royal 3rd birthday party

I remember when I was 7 years old, taking trips to Wal Mart with my Nanny {my grandmother}. Like all other kids, I could barely contain myself in the toy section. Wow! One item I pined after was a dress up kit. For girls, the kits usually consisted of something along the lines of princesses or fairies. A beautiful gown {hey, I thought it was beautiful at the time}, some plastic high-heeled shoe with a diamond-like rhinestone glued on the shoe, and usually tiara. This memory has inspired my royal birthday party invitations...

birthday brainstorming

My friend Theresa has a birthday next week, and if I can get my act together, I want to create her a homemade birthday card. This, in turn, means I will have to get my printer up and running. Note to self: get motivated to go by those ink cartridges you need!

The plan is to have our small circle of friends sign it, so I'm torn between creating a Hallmarkish message inside the card, or simply leaving a blank space for us to write whatever we want.

Anyway, I love soft pinks/corals, so... this is the direction I am wanting to go.

train themed birthday party

You are going to love this post! Mostly because it's filled with deliciousness and cuteness. While visiting the Flickr photo gallery of Cake Ink, I fell in love with this adorable train themed birthday party dessert table. Just take a look at all of the goodies. Marshmallow cupcakes, meringues, blue lemonade, and my favorite... blueberry sour straps! Take a look at Cake Ink's Flickr gallery for yourself -- there's more, too.

kite birthday party

Of all the birthday decorations I have ever known, a kite themed party is new to me! I just wanted to share this unique, clean-cut and fresh birthday decor with you. What's your favorite detail of this kite party? Personally, I love the glass candy jar filled with meringue!

curious george birthday party

I found some adorable children's birthday party ideas while visiting the photography Website of California photographers, Don and David. They are brothers who enjoy wedding photography, but of course, they are talented in just about every area of photography you can image. Just check out their Website for yourself. Here are a few snapshots of a birthday party they photographed.
