I've always wanted to dabble a little in Photoshop, but never really took the time to read tutorials on how to create photo effects.

Today, I found a tutorial, and managed my first photo edit. Take a look:

Just having a little fun this evening.

The bird house was inspired by my trip to Lowe's this afternoon. We visited the lawn and garden section, where apparently, ever bird in the county gathers to build their nest. I could hardly hear myself think for all the chirp chirp chirp chirping.

I'm not an expert when it comes to using Illustrator, at least, not yet. I do like to practice my techniques. Here's a frog illustration that I mimicked. The crown is my own personal touch :)

Nautical Birthday Invitation by Paper and Food

Today, I was inspired by seaside birthday parties. Just the image of a birthday party surrounded by beautiful scenery put me in the mood to make this birthday invitation with matching RSVP card. Can you tell I need a vacation?

Dear Betty Crocker,

What's up with your weird preparation instructions?

Today, I bought a box of your Triple Chunk Brownie mix to prepare as a snack for my husband and I. You see, I have been making these brownies for YEARS, but today I noticed that on your box, you completely neglected to tell me the baking time for a 13"x9" dark pan. I was confused.

This explains why my brownies were thin, and after two hours of sitting, were hard as a rock.

You explain how to bake them in a 13"x9" dark pan at a high altitude, but I don't live in an area of high altitude.

Please improve your instructions, otherwise, I will have to pass.

Hedgehog Father's Day Cards

Father's Day is only a few days away, and since I live many hours from my parents and in-laws, I have to get these two cards in the mail by tomorrow.

I found an illustration of a hedgehog, and created something similar. I added a moustache for my dad, and a necktie for my father-in-law, because he owns more neckties than Macy's! {lol}

Here's a little taste of what I created. Sweet, and simple.
